Divorce Certificate Translation

Divorce certificate translation is $30 and takes 1-2 business days. A court divorce decree is priced as a court document, from $25 per page.

When you need it

Proof of divorce is requested for a marriage-based green card with a new spouse, when you get married in the U.S., and in any case where you have to confirm your marital status.

Sometimes what you have is a court decree instead of a certificate. We translate that too, but it counts as a court document and is priced by the page, from $25 per page.

Dates to watch

The date the court decree took effect and the date the certificate was issued can differ. We carry both into the translation exactly as they are, without rounding or interpreting them.

If your document isn't in Russian or Ukrainian

The price on this page is for translations from Russian or Ukrainian into English. We also translate from other languages, most often Romanian (Moldovan), Belarusian, Armenian, Spanish, Turkish, and Azerbaijani, but we quote those separately: send us a scan, and we'll give you the price before we start.

Frequently asked questions

Does the translation need to be notarized?
Not for USCIS or immigration court. Both require a complete, accurate translation and a certification in which the translator states that the translation is accurate and that they are competent to translate the language. Neither calls for a notary. If an organization asks for notarization on top of that, we can have the translator's signature on the certification notarized.
Do you need the original document?
No. We work from a scan or a photo as long as the text is easy to read. We need the original only if the document has to get an apostille before it's translated.
How long does it take?
A divorce certificate translation usually takes 1-2 business days. If you're up against a deadline, tell us right away. We'll check our workload and give you a straight answer on whether we can make it.
