The main office of the California Secretary of State, which issues apostilles, is in Sacramento. We file documents in person at the counter instead of mailing them, so the turnaround is 1-3 business days rather than weeks of waiting on the mail.
Visiting our notary
- Bring the document you need to sign. There's no need to sign it beforehand: you'll sign in front of the notary.
- Bring a photo ID, such as a passport, a state driver's license, or a state ID card.
- If several people are signing, each of them needs their own ID.
