Police Certificate Translation

Police certificate translation with the translator's certification. $40, ready in 1-2 business days.

When you need it

A police certificate (criminal record certificate) is requested for visa, green card, and citizenship applications, and also for employment and professional licensing.

We translate the entire certificate, including seals, the certificate number, and official notations.

An FBI background check is a different case

An FBI Identity History Summary is issued in English, so it doesn't need a translation for use in the U.S. An apostille and a translation may be needed when you submit it in another country. The apostille for an FBI background check is issued by the U.S. Department of State. We arrange it for $250. Allow at least 6 weeks, including mailing.

If your document isn't in Russian or Ukrainian

The price on this page is for translations from Russian or Ukrainian into English. We also translate from other languages, most often Romanian (Moldovan), Belarusian, Armenian, Spanish, Turkish, and Azerbaijani, but we quote those separately: send us a scan, and we'll give you the price before we start.

Frequently asked questions

Does the translation need to be notarized?
Not for USCIS or immigration court. Both require a complete, accurate translation and a certification in which the translator states that the translation is accurate and that they are competent to translate the language. Neither calls for a notary. If an organization asks for notarization on top of that, we can have the translator's signature on the certification notarized.
Do you need the original document?
No. We work from a scan or a photo as long as the text is easy to read. We need the original only if the document has to get an apostille before it's translated.
How long does it take?
A police certificate translation usually takes 1-2 business days. If you're up against a deadline, tell us right away. We'll check our workload and give you a straight answer on whether we can make it.
