Marriage Certificate Translation for USCIS

Marriage certificate translation into English for USCIS, with the translator's certification. $30 for a one-page document, ready in 1-2 business days.

When you need it

You'll need a translated marriage certificate for a marriage-based green card, other family-based petitions, a name change on U.S. documents, and visa applications.

If you married outside the U.S., we translate the entire certificate, including seals and registration notes.

What we pay attention to

  • Last names before and after marriage, both spelled the way they appear in your passports.
  • The name of the civil registry office, rendered the same way throughout your case.
  • Any special notations on the certificate, which we translate as well.

If your document isn't in Russian or Ukrainian

The price on this page is for translations from Russian or Ukrainian into English. We also translate from other languages, most often Romanian (Moldovan), Belarusian, Armenian, Spanish, Turkish, and Azerbaijani, but we quote those separately: send us a scan, and we'll give you the price before we start.

Frequently asked questions

Does the translation need to be notarized?
Not for USCIS or immigration court. Both require a complete, accurate translation and a certification in which the translator states that the translation is accurate and that they are competent to translate the language. Neither calls for a notary. If an organization asks for notarization on top of that, we can have the translator's signature on the certification notarized.
Do you need the original document?
No. We work from a scan or a photo as long as the text is easy to read. We need the original only if the document has to get an apostille before it's translated.
How long does it take?
A marriage certificate translation usually takes 1-2 business days. If you're up against a deadline, tell us right away. We'll check our workload and give you a straight answer on whether we can make it.
