Apostille for California Business Documents

Apostille for the bylaws, registry records, resolutions, and other documents of a company registered in California. $120 per document, state fee included, ready in 1-3 business days.

Documents we handle

  • Records from the California business registry: a certificate of status or a certified copy of your company's registration.
  • Bylaws or an operating agreement, and other formation documents.
  • Resolutions and minutes signed before a California notary public.
  • Powers of attorney issued by the company to a representative abroad.

Two routes

Documents issued by the California Secretary of State are apostilled directly, since they already carry a state official's signature.

Internal company documents are first signed before a California notary public, and the apostille goes on the notary's signature.

What we need from you

  • A scan of the document, so we can tell which route it takes.
  • The country where it will be used.
  • Where to send the finished documents.

Frequently asked questions

Which business documents can be apostilled directly?
Documents issued by the California Secretary of State, such as a certificate of status. They already carry a state official's signature, so they go straight to the apostille.
What about our bylaws or a board resolution?
Internal documents are first signed before a California notary public. The Secretary of State then places the apostille on the notary's signature.
Our company is registered in another state. Can you help?
California only certifies the signatures of California officials, so the document goes to the state where it was issued or notarized. We handle that for $160 per document, state fee included.
Do I need a separate apostille for each country?
No. The California Secretary of State issues the same apostille no matter which country the document is going to.
